My romances aren't sweet, fluffy offerings but they are more along the lines of the traditional Regencies of a decade (or so) ago, thus sex is left to the imagination rather than spelled out in explicit detail. But I often touch on subjects no one would consider sweet.
I started writing over ten years ago. I wrote four novels before I considered publication and I didn't plan to release those four. One of those has since been published, one more might get published, and the other two will remain in the "vault" forever.
I self-published four Regency romances in 2008 and two more have since came out with TreasureLine Publishing's traditional arm. One of my original self-published titles was also picked up by TLP and will be re-released in late 2012. I have short stories in two anthologies, several more short stories for free on my website, a non-romance fantasy short on all the major eBook sites, and I help run a short story challenge site where several more of my short stories can be found.
