My name is Gwen Steel but I write romance under the name of G.D. Steel. I write Romance in any genre that my muse takes me. My first novel, "Jersey Daze," was released on a trial basis for three months and made me an 'international author' within the first month, but needed to be polished. "Jersey Daze" is a holiday themed novel with humor, laughter, fear, tears, danger and some really steamy scenes. I have learned much since its premier and it is now in its third and final edition in paperback, with the ebook being switched over in the next 2-6 weeks. I have learned that having a great manuscript does NOT mean you have a completed work. I now have several friends, an editor, and artists I respect and who understand my vision for my books.
My next novel, "Vhairi's Surrender," is almost completed and there is a planned release date of late Spring 2012. This will be the beginning of my Futuristic series, "The Star Slave Chronicles of Bleeker Galaxy," and will be more on the size of a novella (approx. 30,000 words each).
While Vhairi and her man get a little "alone time," I have two novels waiting in my head for over ten years now. Each will start with a poem and a preamble to be found in every book of the series. "The Well of Souls Series" is a combination of historical, supernatural ghosts, and contemporary with some very sexy highlanders. Hmmm, I wonder who will make an appearance?
I also write fiction for young adults and have one short love story, "Santa's Secret" which also has a poem. As I don't wish the mothers of these YA readers to find them googling my more adult themed books, I write under the pen name of Gwenna D'Young for these stories. This is a variant of my legal name.
I also belong to a group of children authors, "The Peacock Writers" who join together semi-annually to release an anthology of short stories and poems for ages 0-12+. These stories and books are geared to help children by raising funds for children's charities. All book proceeds go directly to fund the organizations that help to feed, comfort and defend children around the globe. Our first book, "A Whimsical Holiday for Children" was released in Dec 2011, and we are releasing our Spring/Summer book, "The Rain Cloud's Gift" this Spring (2012). It will be available in all the major online stores as an ebook and paperback and is also available for charitable organizations to buy in bulk for their own fund raising efforts on Create Space Direct.
